"art" is a meaningless term
Suppose I sat you down in a room, and told you that behind the door in front of you stood two paintings.
Suppose I told you that one of the paintings is "art" and the other isn't.
Is there anything, anything at all, you could gather from this description without seeing them?
Does that mean the artful painting is more beautiful? More technically impressive? That it has certain themes? That it's popular? That it's loved by people? That it elicits emotions?
No, none of these things separate "art" from the "not-art". Something that isn't art can still make you feel stuff, can still be highly technical, can still be beautiful.
"Art", as it is actually used, is essentially a shorthand for "I value this thing a lot". It is subjectivity galore. It's a word that by itself explains nothing, describes nothing, suggests nothing.
